Shark Attack

A week or so ago I posted about National Geographic filming its show, ‘Sharkmen’ off Seal Island from the 10th to the 30th of April. They were planning to chum 2 tonnes of Tuna during this time. The permit was granted, and locals were warned that there ‘may be higher levels of shark activity’.

Very sad today when news surfaced that Cape Townian bodyboarder, David Lilienfeld, was attacked and killed by a Great White shark at Koeël Bay, which is very close to Gordons Bay. Pictured above is the shark in the surf. A few hours after the attack Dr Alan Boyd cancelled the permit. Thoughts with his family. X
